Dr. Karl Jallad

LAU Health System
Group Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Karl Jallad is the Group Chief Medical Officer of LAU Health System and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital. He is double American Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, with clinical expertise spanning women’s health, menopause, hormonal therapy, pelvic health, and healthy aging. Dr. Jallad completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, followed by fellowship training in Urogynecology at Cleveland Clinic. Throughout his career, his clinical interests have evolved beyond the treatment of disease toward a broader focus on prevention, healthspan, and optimizing health across the different stages of a woman’s life. He has a particular interest in perimenopause and menopause care, evidence-based hormone therapy, metabolic and musculoskeletal health, sexual and pelvic health, and the role of preventive medicine in preserving long-term function and quality of life. His approach emphasizes moving beyond episodic treatment of symptoms toward proactive, individualized care that identifies risk early and helps patients remain healthier for longer. As Group Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jallad brings this preventive perspective to healthcare leadership. He is closely involved in quality improvement, patient safety, digital health, clinical governance, multidisciplinary care, and the development of high-performing clinical programs across LAU Health System. His work increasingly explores how healthcare systems can evolve from models predominantly designed to treat established disease toward models that also prioritize prevention, early intervention, measurable outcomes, and healthy longevity. As both a practicing physician and health-system leader, Dr. Jallad brings a unique perspective to the discussion of a fundamental healthcare challenge: if we know prevention works, why are our healthcare systems still primarily designed around sickness rather than health?
